The binary elements of poverty and illiteracy seen as critical issues facing the country are intrinsically associated with population growth, which makes the stack up three dimensional. Illiteracy has a detrimental spin-off on the country's population stabilisation programs and is also a leading cause of poverty. Therefore the primary effort should be to educate close to one-third of the country's population. In order to bring about this much wanted change towards creating a more literate and knowledge centric nation, ASCEND EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION (AEF) is conceptualised as a not-for-profit initiative for playing a modest role.
